UK 2 Uganda – Run, Ride, Swim & Row
The Challenge is on, two teams are competing to see who can cover the distance from the UK 2 Uganda the fastest. Each team will have to cover a total of 3,962 miles across land and sea by a mixture of cycling, running, swimming and rowing. The Clarify team has been joined in the challenge by the marketing team from Vodafone Global Enterprise.
We are raising funds for the Clarify Foundation that is fundraising to support a series of projects we have been running in Uganda. In April we will be sending 3 members of the Clarify team to aide with the completion of the Bukuya project which 2012’s fundraising paid for.
The Clarify team planned to put some cycling miles on the board this weekend but due to the fact that most of the team have road bikes and didn’t fancy the snow it was postponed until after Easter. Not wanting to be beaten I decided to take to the Kennet and Avon canal path with Oscar (dog) for company, not surprisingly he fared slightly better than I did… 10 miles later, with ice forming on my bike, I made it back to the car. Satisfied that I had managed to get out but somewhat chilled by the inclement weather I just about managed to get the bike on the roof and home to thaw out. Just a thought, this time last year it was 30c and BBQ weather!
Hopefully the weather improves quickly as time is ticking away and we are not eating up the miles as planned!
Stay tuned for updates!!
